Troia resort - Moradia Praia

Troia, Portugal

Intergaup’s Rodrigo Vieira da Fonseca was commissioned to develop three different projects at top locations in a Troia beach resort. Choosing premium materials he opted to let the homes blend in with the seaside landscape. “The wood and sand tones make these homes look like they’re part of the surrounding dunes.”

Air and sand

“These homes are built on platforms on top of the dunes”, says Vieira da Fonseca. “So they appear to be floating, not touching the ground. This asks for a light and airy design. At the same time I wanted to root them in the surrounding sandy landscape with its typical indigenous vegetation. That’s why I combined whitewash and sand tones on natural materials like wood.”

Prime materials

Vieira da Fonseca: “This resort is at a top location, so only premium materials would do for our clients. The quality, stability and choice of finishes drew me to Hakwood for this and a number of other projects. The 24 centimetre planks in particular are a rare find.”
