Grounded in Oak, Elevated in Design
In the heart of West Hollywood’s Design District, the Eichholtz showroom is more than a retail destination - it’s an immersive design experience. Created by acclaimed interior designer Ryan Saghian, the flagship blends European refinement with the spirit of California living. At the core of the concept lies the Hakwood floor: a crafted oak surface that grounds the interior, creating balance and atmosphere for every bold furnishing and curated artwork.
European sensibility meets Los Angeles energy
For Saghian, bringing Eichholtz to the West Coast was about more than opening a showroom. It was about introducing a new perspective to the city’s design scene.
“The Los Angeles market was missing a brand with the scale, craftsmanship, and European sensibility of Eichholtz,” he explains. “LA thrives on cultural fusion, and Eichholtz felt like the perfect fit to introduce that European polish while still speaking to California living.”

Designing a home, not a store
From the start, Saghian envisioned a showroom that felt more like a residence than a commercial space.
“I wanted the showroom to feel more like a residence than a store - layered, sophisticated, and timeless,” he explains. “Flooring became the foundation for that vision. With Hakwood, we created a backdrop that grounds the space while allowing the furniture and lighting to shine. The floor had to feel architectural and enduring - something that could hold its own against bold pieces while still unifying the entire showroom.”
The result is a calm yet powerful backdrop in which Eichholtz’s expressive furniture and lighting take center stage, held together by the quiet strength of Hakwood’s Valor flooring.
An immersive experience
Stepping inside, visitors are meant to feel transported. Each corner reveals a new moment, unfolding like a story and drawing guests deeper into the Eichholtz lifestyle.
“I wanted guests to feel as though they were stepping into a world - not just a store,” says Saghian. “Every detail contributes to that sense of immersion, and the flooring sets the stage from the very first step.”

The value of honest materials
When it comes to materials, Saghian seeks out authenticity. For him, craftsmanship and integrity are non-negotiable.
“I always gravitate toward materials that tell a story,” he explains. “Durability, versatility, and timelessness are what I look for. Trends come and go, but honest materials never fall out of style.”
Flooring with soul
For Saghian, wood flooring is far more than a surface - it is one of the most powerful tools a designer can use. In his view, a well-crafted floor balances structure with soul, adding warmth, texture, and character to a space in a way no other material can. Especially in luxury interiors, flooring becomes the quiet detail that elevates everything else: grounding the design, yet at the same time transforming it.
“The right wood floor doesn’t just support a design,” he emphasizes, “it defines it.”
