Pembroke Mill Lane marks the most significant expansion of Pembroke College in Cambridge since the 14th century. Designed by Haworth Tompkins, the project thoughtfully brings together restored historic buildings and new architectural additions, creating a cohesive campus with spaces for teaching, social activities and student accommodation.
Hakwood's Pure wood flooring was selected for four distinct areas: the former URC church, foyer, Schoolhouse and Phase 2 accommodation. Its natural character and warm tones complement the architectural materials, creating a sense of continuity throughout the different spaces.
The result is a carefully considered environment where historic character and new architecture come together, respecting the past while embracing the needs of future generations.
